Dr Antigoni Nanushi MRCVS

Antigoni decided she wanted to be a vet at the age of 6. She grew up in Cyprus and throughout her childhood she rescued all sorts of animals including tree frogs, goldfish, hamsters, cockatoos, finches, Moscovy ducks, pigeons, rabbits, dogs and cats. Nothing was ever too big or too small. Everything that needed a loving home would find it with her and her family.

As Antigoni grew older, her passion and love for animals only grew stronger. Following her dreams, Antigoni graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Bucharest in 2020. Throughout university she would foster animals and she volunteered in multiple rescue centers. At the same time she gained work experience in an exotic animal clinic, were she would gather material for her bachelor thesis on guinea pigs.

After 6 years of university Antigoni could finally call her self what she always wanted - A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. For 2 years she worked in Bucharest in a small animal hospital where she would treat exotic animals as first opinion and she was the only vet in the practice that would treat exotic animal emergencies out of hours. Following her dreams, Antigoni decided to move in the UK in 2023 were she successfully completed a 1 year exotic animal internship at Great Western Exotics before coming to join our exotic team at Origin Vets Clinic.

Antigoni is currently studying in order to obtain her certificate as a General Practitioner in exotic medicine and then onto Advanced Practitioner in exotic animal species. We are absolutely delighted that Antigoni has chosen us to accompany her in this exciting life journey.

In her free time Antigoni likes to travel and visit her family and pets back in Cyprus. She plays the piano, sings and loves listening to music. She also enjoys a good laugh and will happy chat to you about her passion for animals.
