CUSTOMER SERVICE PROVIDER / VETERINARY CARE ASSISTANT POSITION
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time, permanent, customer service provider combined with veterinary care assistant to join us in our brand-new purpose-built exotics practice in Cardiff!
About the practice.
Origin Vets Clinic is an Independent practice with exotic only caseload.
Origin vet’s clinic is located just east of Cardiff City Centre with excellent links to the M4 and with good public transport access.
The clinic itself is purpose built and designed with careful consideration for keeping prey/predator species separate. We have a green heart and strive to be mindful of our environmental impact.
Our small team is made up of dedicated staff, with additional qualifications/advanced practitioner status in exotics, anaesthesia and emergency and critical care. We are a supportive and progressive team and actively encourage career development.
Clinic Facilities:
2 x operating theatres
Imaging suite
Laboratory
Separate mammal, reptile and bird wards and isolation facilities
3 x consulting rooms
Digital X-ray
Cube 4 K-laser

Multimodal monitoring equipment

About the role.
We are looking for a highly motivated and compassionate person with prior experience in customer service provision and, or, animal care and handling, to join our team.
The position is full time and will be a mix of greeting clients and their pets at reception, and supporting the veterinary team (both in handling of exotic pets and the hospitalized care)
Duties (reception):
· Dealing with client and inter-team communications
· Answering phones
· Greeting clients
· Admin work
· Cash handling
· Upkeep of hygiene
Blended role:
· Animal care duties (feeding, husbandry, handling)
· Handling of exotic animals during procedures
Essential:
· Prior experience in a client facing role/customer service
· Must be eligible to work in the UK
· Hold a full driver’s license
· A caring, enthusiastic, team player
· Excellent communication skills
· Excellent written and spoken English
· Computer literate
Desirable:
· Prior experience as a veterinary receptionist
· Have experience in working with exotic species
· Level 2 Welsh
Job specifics:
40 hours over 4-5 days
Starting Salary : National minimum wage to £20,000
Location: CF23 9AF
